Auditions and Other Events
ISSMA Solo and Ensemble
Solos - $16
Ensemble - $8 per ensemble member
(Payments should be made in cash or check payable to LN Band Boosters)
This event is held at the end of January every year and is for all students wishing to play a Solo or Ensemble for adjudication.
There are different "Group Numbers" for different levels of difficulty.

- Group 3 - Most Freshman or 3rd year players, students not in private lessons
- Group 2 - More challenging music, recommended for students' sophomore-junior, recommended to be enrolled in lessons
- Group 1 - The most difficult literature, very challenging music, private lessons required.
- Group 1 has a required performance list for each instrument that you can view here
Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Side by Side
Have you ever wanted to play in a Symphony Orchestra next to professional musician? The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is currently holding auditions for their annual ISO Side by Side concert in December-January! Wind Ensemble/Wind Symphony/Symphonic Band
- Students in Wind Ensemble will be assigned a Tuxedo/Dress to wear to every performance during the school year.
- These students are responsible for providing their own formal black shoes and long black socks.
- Students wearing a dress will wear assigned jewelry. Other appropriate jewelry are acceptable as long as they do not distract from the overall appearance of the group (Rings, piercings, etc.).
- Black button up dress shirt or blouses with at least 3/4 length sleeves. T-shirts or short sleeve/sleeveless shirts are not acceptable.
- Black dress pants or long black dress or skirt (knee length or longer). Leggings, sweatpants, or jeans are NOT acceptable as dress pants/slacks. No rips or holes.
- Black dress shoes. Shoes must be closed toe. Sneakers, flip flops, or open toe shoes are not acceptable.
- No low-cut necklines or backs.
- Tall black socks or black panty hose. Leggings are not acceptable.
- Neck ties and jackets are not required, but are acceptable.
- Appropriate jewelry or other items are acceptable as long as they do not distract from the overall appearance of the group.
